| Question | Short answer |
|---|---|
| How fast is a withdrawal? | Mobile money is the quickest route out. Three things decide the actual speed — see the table below |
| Is there tax on my winnings? | No. Parliament abolished the 10 % withholding tax on bet winnings in March 2025 |
| Where do I get the Android app? | Straight from the operator as an APK — Google Play in Ghana does not carry it |
| How do I log in? | Phone number with +233, email, or the user ID from your registration SMS |
| Deposits | Cedis through the cashier — MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AT Money, cards and crypto |
| Licensed by the Gaming Commission? | No. PariPesa runs on a Curaçao licence and is not on the Ghanaian register |
| Age | 18+ only |
PariPesa Ghana: payouts, the app, and the licence question
Ghanaians researching betting apps ask about withdrawal speed before almost anything else, so this page starts there rather than with a feature list. After the payout mechanics come the Android APK, signing in, opening an account, and what the odds line actually covers.
Two facts are worth having up front. Since March 2025 there is no withholding tax on betting winnings in Ghana — Parliament removed it. And PariPesa holds no Ghanaian licence; it operates from Curaçao. Both are unpacked below.
Inside the app: sign-in, live betting, casino

Getting paid: how withdrawals work in cedis
Set the account to GHS and the cashier lists the Ghanaian rails. Mobile money is what most people use and what clears fastest — MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AT Money — with cards and cryptocurrency alongside. The route out is Cashier → Withdraw: pick the destination, enter the amount, submit, then follow it in your transaction history.
What actually decides how fast the money lands
“Instant” is a marketing word. In practice a payout passes through three gates, and each one can hold it. None of them is mysterious, and all three are things you control before you ever click withdraw:
| Gate | What holds it up | What you do about it |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Your profile | An account opened in seconds and never completed goes to manual review on the very first withdrawal, and manual review is measured in hours or days rather than minutes | Fill in your legal name and date of birth the day you register, not the day you win |
| 2. The name match | The mobile money wallet is registered to a different name than the betting account — a brother’s number, a friend’s SIM, a business line | Withdraw only to a wallet registered in your own name, on the number already saved to the account |
| 3. Bonus wagering | A welcome offer still running locks the balance until its turnover is complete. On screen this looks like a withdrawal that simply will not submit | Check the bonus status before requesting. If you never wanted the offer, do not tick the box at sign-up |
Past those three gates, the remaining variable is the mobile money network itself, which occasionally queues transfers at peak times. The cashier itself carries the current floors, ceilings and charges, as does the deposit and withdrawal methods page; any figure typed into an article like this one ages badly. If a payout is genuinely late and all three gates are clear, write to payment support with the transaction reference rather than submitting the request a second time — duplicates are the fastest way to have both held for review.
Your winnings are no longer taxed
Ghana introduced a 10 % withholding tax on gross betting and lottery winnings in August 2023, and it applied at the point of payout. Parliament repealed it on 26 March 2025 through the Income Tax (Amendment) Bill 2025, which also removed the tax on gaming and games of chance. Government put the cost of that decision at roughly GH¢268.75 million in forgone revenue.
PariPesa app download for Android
Two of the three Ghanaian queries that already bring people here are about the app, so start with what the PariPesa app download actually is: an APK served from the operator’s own site, not a Play Store install. Google admits real-money betting apps to a national storefront only from operators licensed in that country, which is why searching Google Play from Accra returns nothing. The file runs about 48 MB and needs Android 6.0 or later.
- Load the operator’s download page in Chrome and tap the Android button. From a laptop, scan the QR code with the phone instead.
- Let it finish downloading. A file cut short by a dropped connection looks complete in the Downloads list and then refuses to open — this is the single most common install failure.
- A refusal to open means a missing permission, not a corrupt file. The switch lives in Settings under Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps; enable it for Chrome. Older handsets file it under Security as Unknown sources instead.
- Install from Downloads. Play Protect will show a caution screen, as it does for every sideloaded file — that is standard procedure, not a malware finding.
- Sign in, or register if you do not have an account yet.
- Switch the Chrome permission back off once you are done.
Nothing outside the Play Store updates itself, so refreshing the app is a manual job. When a newer build appears, download the current PariPesa APK and install it directly over the old one. Installing over the top preserves your saved login, bet history and settings; uninstalling first wipes them. Checking the official page once a month is enough.
There is no iPhone equivalent to install. An APK is an Android package and will not run on iOS, and Apple restricts gambling apps in each national store to operators holding that country’s licence. The practical substitute takes seconds: open the official site in Safari, tap Share, choose Add to Home Screen. You get a full-screen icon that behaves like an app, takes almost no storage, and is always current because there is nothing to update. Do not switch your Apple ID to another country to go looking for a listing — that breaches Apple’s terms and leaves purchases and iCloud billing stranded in the old region.
PariPesa login
The sign-in screen accepts three different identifiers for the same account, which is worth knowing because most reported PariPesa login failures come down to entering the right password against the wrong format. Your phone number, your email address and the numeric user ID from your registration SMS all work, and all three take the same password.
- Tap Login in the top corner, in the app or on the mobile site.
- Write the number internationally — +233 followed by nine digits, with the leading zero removed.
- Add the password, then the SMS code if two-factor is active.
- Switch on fingerprint or Face ID in the security settings, and every later sign-in is a single tap.
| Symptom | Usual cause and fix |
|---|---|
| “Invalid username or password” | Nine times out of ten the identifier is wrong rather than the password. Work through 024XXXXXXX, then +23324XXXXXXX, then the user ID printed in your registration SMS |
| Reset link or OTP never arrives | Recovery can only reach what the account already holds, and an account opened in one click holds a single SIM. Look in the spam folder, confirm that line is still active, and give it a full minute before asking again — then add an email so this cannot happen twice |
| Session drops again and again | A VPN shifting your exit IP between countries invalidates it every time. Switch it off, clear the cache, run the current build |
| Account restricted | Either a verification flag or a duplicate opened under the same identity. Write to the blocked-accounts address quoting your user ID, and resist opening another one meanwhile — that alone is grounds to void a balance |
| New SIM, old number on the account | Recovery is still pointed at a line you have stopped carrying. Change it in the profile while the old SIM works, or expect identity checks by hand |
Opening an account
Registration comes in a fast version and a thorough one, and which you pick determines how your first withdrawal goes. One-Click wants a phone number and hands back an account immediately, with an empty profile behind it. Full Registration costs three extra minutes now and saves the manual review later. Tap Registration on the home screen, choose Ghana (+233) and GHS as the currency, then either take the SMS with your user ID and temporary password, or set your own password and tick the 18+ and terms boxes. Confirm the number with the OTP and you are in.
Read the welcome-offer terms before accepting one during sign-up. A bonus taken by accident locks the balance until its wagering clears, and support cannot always reverse it. Whatever is currently running is listed on the promotions page, and a PariPesa promo code goes either into the registration form or into account settings depending on the campaign. Ignore the headline percentage and read four figures instead: how many times the bonus must be turned over, the lowest odds that count towards it, the number of legs a qualifying accumulator needs, and the expiry date. Doubled money at forty times turnover is a worse deal than a modest offer at five, and the difference is entirely in those four numbers.
The sports line and the casino
Ghanaians search for PariPesa sports betting more than for any other feature, and the app carries the same line as the desktop sportsbook rather than a reduced mobile version. Football leads by a distance — Ghana Premier League rounds and Black Stars qualifiers sit beside the European weekend, and a Kotoko or Hearts of Oak derby is priced deeper than an ordinary league fixture. Basketball, boxing, tennis, athletics and esports fill out the rest. A major fixture runs to several hundred markets, and the in-play screen keeps odds movement, open slips, live statistics and cash-out together on one page.
The casino section opens in the same app with nothing further to download: slots from a long provider list, live dealer tables, and crash titles including Aviator and JetX. Most slots offer a free demo, which is the sensible way to judge a game’s volatility before staking cedis; live tables and jackpots do not, so the first round there is real money by definition.
Four switches are worth hunting down on the first day: the biometric or PIN lock guarding the app itself, one-tap staking for live prices, the rule governing whether a slip silently swallows an odd that has moved, and a ceiling on deposits. The first three buy you speed. Only the fourth ever saves you anything.
Is PariPesa licensed in Ghana?
No, and Ghana is one of the markets where that answer carries real weight, because the country runs a functioning licensing regime rather than a legal vacuum.

- An independent information site about the PariPesa app. We are not the operator and cannot access, credit or restore any account.
The Gaming Commission of Ghana licenses sports betting and online gaming under the Gaming Act 2006 (Act 721) and publishes the operators it approves. The bar is deliberately high: an online sports betting licence runs to around USD 500,000 with a substantial annual renewal, paid-up capital in the millions, and — the part that matters here — a Ghanaian incorporated company with a physical office and resident directors. Operators also pay a 20 % levy on gross gaming revenue. The framework is built around a local presence, not a remote one.
Protecting the account and yourself
- One password used here and nowhere else, two-factor active, and the app’s own PIN or fingerprint lock behind that.
- Sign in from your own handset only. An internet café terminal, a borrowed phone or an open network is somebody else’s territory.
- Nobody with a legitimate reason will ever need your MoMo PIN or a code texted to your phone. Support will not ask. A “verification officer” who calls is not one. An admin promising to release a stuck withdrawal is running a script.
- Leave the VPN off. Appearing to bet from a territory the service does not serve breaches the terms and hands over a reason to void the payout.
The account settings hold the tools that matter: a ceiling on deposits by day, week or month, session reminders, a cooling-off pause and full self-exclusion. A tighter limit applies at once while a looser one is deliberately delayed, so set them calmly rather than mid-session. Stake only what losing would not change about your month, and treat three things as signals to stop — depositing again to recover what just went, funding a stake with money owed elsewhere, and going quiet about it with the people closest to you. Free confidential help is at gamblingtherapy.org and gamblersanonymous.org; the in-account controls are on our responsible gambling page. Strictly 18+.
Getting help
Everything runs through in-app chat and email, at any hour. No Ghanaian phone line exists, which makes every number advertised as an official helpline somebody else’s — and in the reported cases, somebody who wants a code read aloud to them. Send each kind of problem to the right place:
- Live chat, in the app or on the site, for a login block, a bug, a deposit that has not appeared or a question about how a bet settled. Quote your user ID in the first message.
- payments-support@paripesa.com for anything involving money. Attach the transaction reference — without it the ticket cannot move.
- security@paripesa.com for a sign-in you did not make; block@paripesa.com for a restricted account.
- support-en@paripesa.com for betting rules, bonus terms and account settings.
- @Paripesa_Support_bot and @paripesa_world on Telegram for general questions with nothing sensitive in them.
PariPesa Ghana FAQ
How long does a PariPesa withdrawal take in Ghana?
Mobile money is the fastest route, but the timing depends on three things rather than on the method: whether your profile is complete and verified, whether the receiving wallet is registered in the same name as the betting account, and whether a bonus is still holding the balance. Clear all three and the transfer moves at network speed. Miss one and it goes to manual review.
Is there tax on betting winnings in Ghana?
Not since 26 March 2025, when Parliament passed the Income Tax (Amendment) Bill abolishing the 10 % withholding tax on bet and lottery winnings introduced in 2023. Older guides still describe the deduction; it no longer applies to what players receive.
Can I deposit with MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or AT Money?
An account set to cedis shows the Ghanaian mobile money options in the cashier, along with cards and crypto. The wallet has to be in your own name and on the number saved to the account — withdrawing to someone else’s line is what stalls payouts.
Is PariPesa licensed by the Gaming Commission of Ghana?
No. The Commission licenses operators under the Gaming Act 2006, and its regime requires a locally incorporated company, a physical office and resident directors. PariPesa operates under a Curaçao Gaming Control Board licence held by Optim Development B.V., which means a dispute is heard in Curaçao rather than in Accra.
Why is there no PariPesa app on Google Play in Ghana?
National storefronts carry real-money betting apps only from operators licensed in that same country, and this licence was issued in Curaçao. What the empty search result tells you is where the paperwork sits, not whether the software is any good. Android installs come from the operator’s site instead.
Is the APK safe to install?
When it comes from the operator’s page, yes. Two checks expose a fake: a size around 48 MB, and no request for SMS or contacts access. Play Protect still shows a caution screen during installation, exactly as it does for every sideloaded Android file.
Is there a PariPesa customer care number in Ghana?
No Ghanaian phone line exists. Support runs on in-app chat and email only. Treat any number presented as an official helpline as an attempt to obtain a code from your phone.
Before your first deposit
- Download the installer from the operator’s site directly, and from nowhere that merely links to it.
- Confirm the weight is in the right region and that the permission list stays away from your inbox and address book.
- Grant the sideloading permission for the installation only, and revoke it immediately afterwards.
- Complete the profile — legal name, date of birth — while the balance is still zero.
- Verify that the wallet you intend to be paid into carries that same name.
- Read the Gaming Commission’s register for yourself and note who appears on it.
- Choose a deposit ceiling now, while nothing is riding on it, and let no code that arrives by SMS leave your handset.
